Already shortly after ten
I’m standing at the platform
My eyes are slowly getting heavy
A terribly long day
That’s now behind me
I feel tired, quite empty

The station clock seems to be standing still
I see the pigeons under the roof
And eventually the train will arrive
Quite loud
I’m not quite awake anymore

Then I get on, look out the window
And I take a deep breath
Not much longer and I’ll be home


I’m on my way
To where I simply belong
Where security matters the most
How I’ve missed it
Soon I’ll be there
I’m so happy and smiling out
And I can hardly wait until I finally feel again
Once again I feel at home

The ride through colorful city lights
An old man nods and smiles
And in the compartment, there’s a quiet peacefulness
I think about already being there

I sit quietly, close my eyes
And I take a deep breath
