In Los Angeles, there′s a part of the city that-, that's called Canyons
And that′s Laurel Canyon, Topanga Canyon
And hills run through the middle of the city
And if you get onto the top of the hills, you can see cities
Stretching for 20 miles in all directions all around the hills

Laurel Canyon used to be where all of the western, eh, television
Bid actors and movie actors lived in
That's sort of being abandoned and a new change has come about
In the neighborhood and that's where all the Rock And Roll stars live now
At least, a lot of them live in Laurel Canyon or Topanga Canyon
So you have a lot of little tiny bops running all right through saying
"Oh, is that a Buffalo Springfield? Let′s go ask them
But what if it isn′t?" You know


"Then what do we do if he's just nobody?
Just and ordinary person, wow but drag"

So, as a result, Laurel Canyon is sort of being evacuated
Slowly by mindless Rock And Roll singers who just can′t take it anymore
And they are trying to find a more secret place
But there is some wonderful people who live up in those hills
And this is a song I like to close with about the ladies of the Canyon

The ladies of the Canyon are actually are from all different places
They are just good people who ended up there
One of them is a Canadian and one of them is from New York's lower East Side
And the other one is a Czechoslovakian, Puerto Rican girl from the Circus Family
In Florida
And they all ended up there with their various talents
And they are so representational of the good people there that I just
Wrote a little song called "The Ladies of the Canyon"
