Do you not see the sun
I see streets on fire
Smoke clouded the skies
Rats in dirty alleys
And people guided by poverty.
I see falling trees
Houses with no door and roof
Ruins, bombed out rooms
A city shattered by violence
Furious bodies,
Ghetto kids resisting
And weeping women
Sorrow seared on faces
They scream for justice
All alone, only black earth
far and wide
I see little hands
shivering and homeless
Spraying at bare walls,
glaring and huge And they dream of a place,
where miracles still exist
The birds, they flee
into a flourishing country
See how they move,
Wings large and spread
I see fear in the eyes
and feet covered in ashes and dust
Legs without faith
feel deprived of the way
But tearful they go on
slowly straight ahead
Yes, they go more and more
out of this hell
Don’t you see the sun above
Can’t you feel its warmth deep inside of you
Look into the sunlight above
and let it shatter the hatred
deep inside of you.
