A Charmed Life Songtext
von Paul Simon

A Charmed Life Songtext

Some people, some people
Never had no storm or strive
Some people, some people
May lead a charmed life

When trouble knocks upon their door
They always show such cheerfulness
He scratches his head and away he goes
Saying, "Yes, I have the wrong address"

Some people, some people
Never had no storm or strive
Some people, some people
May lead a charmed life

A wealthy fisherman can hold
All the equipment in the buck
Many people like us, we just come along
Captain with the pole as straying a book

A farmer works upon his land
He nearly kills himself with toil
Then people like us, they advise more
And then, what do they discover? (Oil!)

Some people, some people
Never had no storm or strive
Some people, some people
May lead a charmed life

A man like me picks out a girl
And then, she buys her with a gown
Your wedding day comes but as luck holds out
Just as he arrives, the church burns down

Oh, kids like us, they go to school
And comes the day for final test
They don′t know a thing, but police arrive
Just time for teacher, they arrest

Some people, some people
Never had no storm or strive
Some people, some people
May lead a charmed life

Raggle-taggle, gypsy band
Who never stays where they are put
That's us and we′re glad that we're us because
We're as lucky as a rabbit′s foot

Some people, some people
Never had no storm or strive
Some people, some people
May lead a charmed life
