We crossed the border 'bout a quarter to four
As my brain began to ache
With the checkpoints empty and the turnpike clear
As the day began to break
Well we had a few packs of vaccine
And a crateful of Duracell Two′s
So we tanked her up and took a couple of cans
At a backstreet depot in Bruges

We ran into a lone control point
And it could have been the end of the line
But they recognized Eddie and they waved us on
And they took apart the car behind
