The Thing That Isn't There Songtext

The Thing That Isn't There Songtext

I′ll tell you what I truly fear
What gives me the wooliest scare
I'll tell you what I dread the most
The thing that isn′t there

It isn't under my brither's bed
It isn′t behind the chair
It′s hard to say just where it is
The thing that isn't there

And when my mother turns out the light
I lie in my bed and stare
I stare at the wall, prepared to see
The thing that isn′t there

It wasn't there for weeks and weeks
So why took extra care?
It gives me the creeps to think of it
The thing that isn′t there

And now on a dark and stormy night
I bravely climb the stair
And open the closet door to face
The thing that isn't there

It isn′t there again tonight
The prickles in my head
Informed me that I'm very near
To the thing that isn't there

Yes, I′ll tell you what I truly fear
What gives me the wooliest scare
I′ll tell you what I dread the most
The thing that isn't there
