I'm Not Over You Songtext
I feel great, I lie to save your feelings
Truth convened, my head smashed through the ceiling
I lost an arm, no one harmed, you diplomatically alarmed
I sulked away to lick my thin skin
Just a little
Oops, E, E minor
No, A, no, A minor?
D, thank you
I′m not over you
No, that's wrong (how do we know?)
Sulked away to lick my thin skin
I can do this
I′m not supposed to, but anyway
Ee
How does that thing-, oh, I know
E-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e
E-e-e-e-e
It's a great story behind this little song
I was at the Tibet House thing at Carnegie Hill in New York two years ago
And Billy Corgan was playing there
And I had gotten a guitar as a gift from a friend
And I, I wrote the first ever song that I've ever written on a guitar and I was really proud of it
And I, so Billy was backstage and I showed him my little song
And it went like this
Has, have any of us, Eric, have any of us ever heard these chord progressions before?
Yeah, it goes
"We meet with a smile
I′m feeling like a little child"
So I was challenged by that
I′m going to write a melody that motherfucker would never touch in his life
And this is how it goes
"E-he-he-he-he-he-he-he-he-he
E-he-he-he-he-he-he-he-he-he
E-he-he"
Can you imagine?
Well, there's this kick-ass movie that′s already been filmed and I think they're editing it
And it′s got a lot of great people in it and
The director is one of my all-time heroes
And the movie is about one of my all-time heroes
And it shares titles with the song
The words of which I periodically forget
Truth convened, my head smashed through the ceiling
I lost an arm, no one harmed, you diplomatically alarmed
I sulked away to lick my thin skin
Just a little
