I′m only ten years old
And it's the 25th of December
And it really ain′t that cold

They say someone was born today
Who died on the cross
It's a busy market all the way
It's a busy slaughterhouse

′Cause the chicken that I skin for you
There′s eight anas for me
So 58 birds
Mean 29 rupees


I'm grateful for this coming
Into this ugly world
′Cause I get the chance to earn some more
All covered up in blood

And when it is all over
The slaughterhouse is clean
I sleep beside the bird
That don't dare to ever scream

And finally, end of dreaming
Of purple paper kites
That I fly across the oceans
On a dark and dirty sky
