Beyond the Balcony of the Midnight Mind (The Ascent) Songtext

The room is filled with tones of blues
Reflections of unseen water below
And the sky′s a perfect midnight hue
And the moon casts drama with its glow

Each and every sight and breeze is in
Its own place and significance
And the balcony is such a tease
Inviting the midnight mind to dance

I want to
Cry in a room
Of a tower
With a window
Swaddled in my own wings

I want to
Gaze through the window
And my tears
Like a dream
And I want it to mean something

I want to
Feel the room around me
With its columns
And its aura
As the sirens softly sing

I want to
Be one of them
And fall
Into myself
And I want it to mean something

This room has rooted within my mind
My persistent goal, my Liralen
And there are countless things in there to find
Walter Wick left his mark in that place of no men

Each and every time I close my
Eyes I reach for vague narrative forming
In the room modeled after childhood flights of fantasy
Suspended in the middle of performing

Each and every sight and breeze is in
Its own place and significance
And the balcony is such a tease
Inviting the midnight mind to dance

I want to
Cry in a room
Of a tower
With a window
Swaddled in my own wings

I want to
Gaze through the window
And my tears
Like a dream
And I want it to mean something

I want to
Feel the room around me
With its columns
And its aura
As the sirens softly sing

I want to
Be one of them
And fall
Into myself
And I want it to mean something

I want to
Cry in a room
Of a tower
With a window
Swaddled in my own wings

I want to
Gaze through the window
And my tears
Like a dream
And I want it to mean something

I want to
Feel the room around me
With its columns
And its aura
As the sirens softly sing

I want to
Be one of them
And fall
Into myself
And I want it to mean something
