Expatriot Songtext

The Philistines are flocking to that overflowing fountain
Hoping youthful glowing water will delay their slow demise
The experts they have spoken, but the people wouldn′t listen
Wouldn't even look up from their newspapers with surprise

Maybe your daydreaming days darling are over
Maybe your daydreaming days darling are done

Nobody knows what they are feeling, the bomb has lost its meaning
Blank banners are waved, no sincere tears are cried
The beauty of our age has faded into someone mediocre
We all tried to provoke her to show a softer side

Maybe your daydreaming days darling are over
Maybe your daydreaming days darling are done

And the skies remaineth open
The breached levees lying battered, broken
Like skeleton leaves revealing mother nature′s pride
And we'll all stand and scratch our heads
Until our fingertips and scalps have bled
And we still can't figure out quite what it was was said

And we will look over our nation howling ruination, indignation
Now we have a situation in the stars was read
As the emperors look from side to side
Trying their best to decide
How they see fit to divide
Our meagre daily bread

And it′s two thumbs down
To yet another useless sad beleaguered town
The minotaur′s axe crashing down
'Til all around are heads a-rolling

Maybe your daydreaming days darling are over
Maybe your daydreaming days darling are done

Maybe they are but just begun

Maybe your daydreaming days darling are over
Maybe your daydreaming days darling are done
