Beautiful leaves in the wintertime falling
Oft have I thought as they dropped one by one
That they must obey some mystical calling
That calls them away when the sunshine is gone

But oh in the winter will their brightness restore us
Although the cold earth their echoes receive
We too must fade like the dead leaves before us
To bloom once again like all these leaves
