There we go!

Well it was 1880
As the ship left the port
Bound for our future
With nothing on board
I was down in the gutter
With my hands behind my back
A small change of fortune
Was all that I lacked

At the first night at sea
Was a terrible storm
We burned what we found
Just to keep warm
Oh till Thomas emerged
From the hold down below
There′s gallons of whiskey
Wrapped up down below


And now we're drunk
We′re lying flat on the floor
I cannot remember
The night of before
I know Paddy was dancing
The world spun around
And it didn't stop turning
Till I hit the ground

After three weeks at sea
The conditions turned 'round
There was no more bottle
Of rum to be found
So we set out a course
To the next piece of land
And just two days later
The ship hit the strand

I set foot on dry land
With only the thought
Of the mission at hand
We found our first bar
With strong whiskey for sale
And the barman was tapping
His finest strong ale

With beat of the drum
Trying to find
Why the bar was all gone

The damned thing it was gone

So we head back to ship
With our heads hanging low
There was no more path
Or road left to go
Oh I swore on my life
And on God′s eternal soul
I ne'er more would drink
From the hold down below
