Sit Myself Down Songtext
von Greg Anderson

Sit Myself Down Songtext

Away from the deafening crowd
I′ve found a place to sit
Where it is oh-so quiet
So quiet and dimly lit
I'll stay here for a while
As my mind begins to race
I′m tired of falling apart
With every minor hit
A fragile little flower
More like a brittle twig
I need a thicker skin
As the thorns are getting sharp

And I'll sit myself down
For a little talk
I'll wrap myself in my words
Try to weather the storm
But the rain keeps falling down
And the water′s rising fast

I try my best to hide
My fears and loneliness
From those I care about
Why should I burden them
With this great mental load
When I can drag it by myself
I want a peaceful mind
But then, you know what
The best ideas I′ve had
Were at the worst of times
Now I should stop this verse
Before it becomes a rant

And I'll sit myself down
For a little talk
I′ll wrap myself in my words
Try to weather the storm
But the rain keeps falling down
And the water's rising fast

And I hope I seem happy
When I sing to you tonight
But I can′t shake this feeling
Of dread deep inside
And I know I'm headed nowhere
But I have to take the time
To get my head straight
And clear
The cluttered corners
Of my mind

And I′ll sit myself down
For a little talk
I'll wrap myself in my words
Try to weather the storm
But the rain keeps falling down
And the water's rising fast

I′ll sit myself down
For a little talk
I′ll wrap myself in my words
Try to weather the storm
But the rain keeps falling down
And the water's rising fast
