We are distilled, we are what remains
Vestigial, bleached and skeletal
Barren and exposed on an open landscape
On a planet returned to the hands of apes

One sprig in the dry soil
There to remind
There′s a source unseen
There's water beneath the the ground that feeds the sky we breathe
It′s where it's always been, always
It's where it′s always been


We are distilled, we are what remains
You call this decimated, I call it fighting weight
That which doesn′t kill won't always make you stronger still
When is anything ever that simple
We won′t completely disappear, at least not yet
