Small Town Temple Songtext

Small Town Temple Songtext
Oh the small town temple where I come from
Is held together by peeling paint
Cracks in the floor boards and window panes
Make a down home version of glass that′s stained
She ain't nothing fancy
A little blip on the map
Just a humble little mystery
That keeps me going and coming on back
I calibrate my compass to her siren song
And it keeps me rooted to the ground
No matter where I go I know that I come from
This little church on the outskirts of town
Long deconsecrated, we got religion, but we have it back
It′s a place where all feel welcome
And you can't ask for much more than that
It's there i feel the magic, the granite buzzing, the swaying gum
There′s honeysuckle winding through the little town, that I call home
Oh in this place of no religion where all are welcome
To song their song, we sing this elegy far - reaching
To the small town temple
Where I come from
Is held together by peeling paint
