My Big Brass Bed Is Gone Songtext

My Big Brass Bed Is Gone Songtext
Well, I came home last night
Opened up my door
All I found in my bedroom
Was the linoleum on the floor
It started me to worry
′Cause all my bills were due
My big brass bed was gone
And my baby was missing too
I knew I owed the highest man
The light, the water and gas
But they shouldn't have touched my brass bed
When I bought that bed, I sure paid cash
It sure keeps me worried
I know all my bills are due
My big brass bed is gone
But who did I owe my baby to?
Well, my baby′s so little and tiny
Sleeps with the cover over her head
The only thing that bothers me
Is she's still in that bed
I'm gonna get myself a job
With the city hauling trash
So I can look in every house
To find out where my baby′s stashed
My big brass bed is gone
But who did I owe my baby to?
Opened up my door
All I found in my bedroom
Was the linoleum on the floor
It started me to worry
′Cause all my bills were due
My big brass bed was gone
And my baby was missing too
I knew I owed the highest man
The light, the water and gas
But they shouldn't have touched my brass bed
When I bought that bed, I sure paid cash
It sure keeps me worried
I know all my bills are due
My big brass bed is gone
But who did I owe my baby to?
Well, my baby′s so little and tiny
Sleeps with the cover over her head
The only thing that bothers me
Is she's still in that bed
I'm gonna get myself a job
With the city hauling trash
So I can look in every house
To find out where my baby′s stashed
My big brass bed is gone
But who did I owe my baby to?
