We were drinking red wine,
We were both kind of red eyed,
I′m wearing a jacket I wouldn't wear these days,

And someone′s going outside,
Or reaching for a lighter,
On the right side of the frame,

I musta been smiling for the camera,
Because I don't remember feeling good back then,
This is before we got pushed out 'cause
Someone bought the building and raised the rent,
I′m struck by our expression and how little it shows,
In this picture of us smiling at a party,
Five years ago,

Our shitty apartment,
A flash in the darkness,
Posing in a crowded room,


It all feels imagined, but
It musta happened,
′Cause I got the cold hard proof,

I think I was smiling for the camera,
Because I don't remember feeling much back then,
