Master of One Songtext
von Brother Hill
Master of One Songtext
For all the years we tried so hard to be wise like an aged sage,
Might as well have gotten drunk like when we were young.
For all the times that came and went I′ll admit my patience spent
On city lights & nights of getting bent.
For all the years I'll age, turning the pages of every day,
Missing out on the stillness of the destined way.
Not true to my existence I could try the route of youth,
For fifty years dwindling with peers
that fell behind knowing the end was near.
Until I climb that hill alone,
Accept the date of departure as unknown,
Realise I am the master of my bones,
Believe the truth of ages will be shown,
When in my heart is grown
A warm room to find a hearth and home.
