Oh, what′s happening to Christmas, the giving from the heart?
Now we give what only have pocketbooks allow
The kids who should be getting love will get a chemistry set
So, we put it in our shopping bags
And hurry home to rest


It's just one day till Christmas as I hurry to the store
The holidays are different and their meanings, I′m not sure
I've worked so hard the whole year long to purchase happiness
Now I put it in my shopping bag
And hurry home to rest

So we stopped at the counter
To buy a pair of socks
Last year, we gave him a tie
And the shirt we bought the year before his size

The snow upon the ground was once a joyful sight to see
But now it's inconvenient to have snow beneath my feet
So many empty souls I′ve seen is really quite a mess
So, I put it in my shopping bag
And hurry home to rest
