Indie Songtext

Indie Songtext
I quit making music, for the second time today
It can be quite exhausting when you hate the songs you play
Of course i have no money, and my mother pays the rent
Sometimes I′m just scared that I will fail until my end.
I think your songs are gloomy, because you speak of death
But it's my job to remind you of the things you might forget
I don′t want you to end up all surprised at Peter's gate
I wish someone had told me, but I guess it is too late
You don't play indie folk
Don′t even know what indie means
You can write the following down, in your little magazine:
I once had a dog called Indie, he had cancer in his knees
When he couldn′t walk no more, the vet put him to sleep
Some bands they are shitty, some bands they're great
I think you must be glad that you′re a part of that debate
Your record got three stars, but someone heard they gave you four
I didn't pay attention, I was dry humping the floor
I spent two years in a hospital for the mentally insane
And when I was asleep they took pieces of my brain
They studied them in Germany and it didn′t take them long
To send me a guitar and teach me how to write a song
I guess you don't have friends, ′cause no one likes a man who's down
There's no one there to visit you whenever you′re in town
I have many friends, cause people know that I′m great fun
When you are not around, I am happy as the sun
It can be quite exhausting when you hate the songs you play
Of course i have no money, and my mother pays the rent
Sometimes I′m just scared that I will fail until my end.
I think your songs are gloomy, because you speak of death
But it's my job to remind you of the things you might forget
