The illness was growing
They were fighting everyday now
The bright eyed little boy looked up at me
"I′m going to be a firefighter when I grow up!" he told me
"I'm going to be an actress!" said the little girl
Under the worst of circumstances, these little angels were smiling
Beauty, love and possibility in a world full of hardship and pain
To all those beautiful children, you are my inspiration

So many people tell me the world is only full of strife
They have no hope, they′ve lost their dreams, they've given up on life
The news explains all these terrible things that are happening daily
But when I look out to the world
I don't see what they all see

They say there′s only grief and only strife but I don′t agree
