The whole school could smell it as he pulled up in his ute
When dad came to my class, cow dung on his boot
He been up since 3:30, mum have gone to town
You gonna have to come now, son, the milkin′ cow is down
So I drove the forks and tractor wrapped around ahead
Come on ol', girl, get up or tomorrow you′ll be dead

You see I was always learnin' even when I wagged my class
Like how to make a livin', makin′ butter and a grass
Grass goes in one end and dung comes out the back
Milk comes out the other and you squirt it in a valve
The dung makes the grass grow, and ′round, around it goes
Milk to a make your tea, cow dung to warm your toes

Christmas Day or Easter it doesn't matter when
Milkin′ every mornin' and afternoon again
Even at the bush fire, you gotta head back home
Sorry Mike, the cows can′t do it on their own
Even on dad's birthday he turned the big five-o
Full as a tin can milk and he didn′t even know
