I Love You, What Can I Say Songtext
von Jerry Reed
I Love You, What Can I Say Songtext
You know, some call me a poet
"He has a way with words," they say
Hm
Well, why then when I try to tell you the way I feel
And all the words just slip away?
Or they come out something like dialogue from a Clark Gable movie
Well, frankly, my dear, damn
I just have so much inside that I want you to know about
But it all means that I love you
So what can I say?
You bring a tear to the poet′s eye
And you're the rhyme I could not write
And you are love when the words slip away
And I love you (love you), what can I say?
You see, sometimes
And sometimes words are just running off
I mean, what is that word for that, funny, little shaky feelin′ inside, huh?
Or that numb, warm, wonderful confusion when you touch me?
A poet, no, no, I'm not a poet
But if I were, and if I had every word in the world at my command
My poem would still be "I love you"
I love you, so what can I say?
You're the song that I could not sing
And you are the picture that I could not paint
And you are love when the words slip away
And I love you (I love you), what can I say?
I love you, what can I say, yeah?
And your are love when the words slip away
And I love you (I love you), what can I say?
I love you (I love you), what can I say?
I love you (I love you), what can I say?
Woman, I love you (I love you), what can I say?
"He has a way with words," they say
Hm
Well, why then when I try to tell you the way I feel
And all the words just slip away?
Or they come out something like dialogue from a Clark Gable movie
