Swamp Thing - (Nai Palm) Commentary Songtext
Swamp Thing is, essentially, my interpretation of Michael Jackson′s, "Thriller"
I know that sounds like a big feat or a claim or whatever, but more so the fact that
It's a song that is essentially creating a narrative and setting up a story and characters that are scary
And then he′s like, he'll protect, he'll protect you from all the scary things
But then in the end, he is the werewolf, so it′s kind of like this, you know?
I just, I love, I love the, that idea, you know?
So, it′s set there I tend to write songs that, kind of like, could be movies, essentially
Yeah, so, Swamp Thing's like, it′s setting up the story and it's a scary creature
And then, I′m basically like a siren character that will essentially lead you to your death
But it'll be a beautiful death, yeah
I picked a southern theme for Swamp Thing after reading a book called, "Jitterbug Perfume"
Which is written by Tom Robbins
And uh, it′s esse-, about everything, but I just, I just love his writing style
It's very descriptive and visual but quirky
And so I was really inspired by that book when I, when I chose the setting for Swamp Thing
But it was also just a jam idea that the boys came up with and someone named it that
And then I took the key words and just kind of turned it into a story
I know that sounds like a big feat or a claim or whatever, but more so the fact that
