Borderline With My Atoms - (Nai Palm) Commentary Songtext

So By Fire in Borderlands are of two parts
That′s the first part with By Fire
But I still had this arrow head and I felt like I had to go to Arizona
And find the man who made it to give it back to him

Because
I don't really see possessions as yours there with you
There are like keys, essentially
And I just felt like, a part of my journey was to like
Find out who made the arrow head

And uhm, I met a man, he′s name is Nako, he's a musician
And uh, he's Apachi
Puerto Rican and Filipino
And I met him and I was telling him the story of the arrow head
And as I was telling him

The arrow head fell on his lap and all of a sudden it occurred to me that like
This arrow head had had all the ancestors in that area rung into it
And y′know, and it was like, it′s for him and it was part of his journey connecting with his ancestry
So the next chapter of the song is Borderline with My Atoms and it's like, I guess
Essentially a commentry on your reality in life is made up of a molecular structure
And there′s different patterns and forms in which it chooses to shape itself
And, how you perceive things changes the roles of the way, like th-

In science
They notice that if you observe molecules they act differently if you're looking, if they are being observed
And so I feel like how you perceive the world changes the reality of it
And so, I guess your imagination and your dream state is as much a reality and a truth as this reality
And how you interact with it defines whether it′s valid or not and so, yeah
It's a commentry on that, it sparks from this interaction I had
No borders, the line in Borderline with My Atoms is uh, essentially, there is no separation

But, we as humans like to categorize things and
Y′know, borders as in globally, y'know
I have friends that are refugees from other places
And they can't, they can′t live in other countries because of the concept of a border
But really, it′s man-made, it's a man-made idea

And that stems into everything, y′know, into genre, y'know
You are this, you are categorized as this
And as an artist I feel like it′s
My role to celebrate imagination and be an advocate for
For the possibility of anything
Y'know, and I feel like you can reach that through creativity
