... And Then He Wrote Meditations (Alt) Songtext

Uh, we′d like to do one more, one more thing, uh
Before we, uh, call it a night
And, uh, it's, uh, uh, very, um, important thing to me
Because it was written, eh, on a basis of "A Love Supreme" by John Coltrane
And it′s called "... And Then He Wrote Meditations"

It's a special poem for John Coltrane
Uh... now what you gonna do, Grey?
He can do that, that's alright
People tryin′ to switch drums on me

Uh, ′cause everybody knows, uh, I suppose, John Coltrane
Master of ther tenor saxophone
And there have been like quite a few poems written mentioning him
But nothing in specific that I had about a particular piece
And "A Love Supreme" was the, probably the recording that he was most noted for
And I had to write something, uh, expressing my feelings on "A Love Supreme"
This is called "... And Then He Wrote Meditations"

Straddling the darkness
He controlled the bucking thrusts and rode on
The emptiness alone that he would try to fill
Into the middle to try and be the bridge between spirits
"Expand!" he screamed
The vacuum was aroused, suspicious and alarmed
Who would dare enter?
But up he rode

This is not workin', this is not workin′, bro
Cut that
Alright
