When Days Were Long (But Far Too short) Songtext

When Days Were Long (But Far Too short) Songtext
I stumbled quite by chance upon a memory
A memory I stumbled on today
And kids were playing there, just like I used to play
I pondered on them Summer hot and dusty days
And wondered where the years have all gone to
When days were long but far too short
For all we had to do
I stumbled quite by chance upon a memory
A memory that I almost forgot
I gazed upon the scene
And feelings good I got
It made me realise that though the years go by
Happy kids will be there for always
To bring back memories good we spent
Back in our younger days
You hear say it′s different now
Not how it used to be
But I don't agree
Some things don′t change anyhow
Just look around and see
'Cos trees and flowers still they grow
And buds appear in spring
Birds will always sing
The same as they did long ago
Sweet memories they bring
I stumbled quite by chance upon a memory
And for the young one day today will be
A memory from the past and just by chance, like me
In many years to come the past they'll stumble on
And wonder where have all the years gone to
When days were long but far too short for all they had to do
You hear say it′s different now
Not how it used to be
But I don′t agree
Some things don't change anyhow
Just look around and see
′Cos trees and flowers still they grow
And buds appear in spring
Birds will always sing
The same as they did long ago
Sweet memories they bring
I stumbled quite by chance upon a memory
And for the young one day today will be
A memory from the past and just by chance, like me
In many years to come the past they'll stumble on
And wonder where have all the years gone to
When days were long but far too short for all they had to do
When days were long but far too short for all they had to do
A memory I stumbled on today
