Midnight at the kitchen table, a 30-dollar pen in my right hand
I′m wondering' if I′ll be able to write down all the things the way I planned
I was gonna say it's over and this ring on my left hand no longer fits, mm
But this pen just writes, "Dear darling, I just wanted you to know," and than it quits

It writes upside down and sideways, between the lines
And it's the best pen I could find
No, it not write on tears
It won′t erase your memory from my mind


It can′t keep my heart from breakin', iI wish it stops shakin′ in my hands
But here it says

This darn pen works my mind every time I try to write the word "Goodbye"
It quits again
