I planted them at night
To keep the monsters out
They started growing thorns
They grew to block the sun out

Briar, hooks and arrows
Grows my likeness


They pull me under slow
From here inside the vines
I eat the sour fruit
That still keeps me alive

Briar stole my image
Hear it from inside


Briar is the skyline
Growing till you choke
Snaking lines of brambles
Wrapped around your throat
Briar, closing tighter
Grabs you from below
Leave you wrapped in ivy
Left to overgrow
