Nobody’s Listening Songtext

Nobody’s Listening Songtext
Nobody′s listening
No-one hears a word
So I'll just sit here and sing to myself
Like some lonesome singing bird
But even the songbird
Does not sing in vain
There′s always someone listening
Who will want him to sing again
So why do I continue
Why do I carry on
The hour is getting late now
And the audience is almost gone
Don't be put off
By the silence you hear
For it may be they're receiving you somehow
But if the silence is empty
And no-one hears a word
Then you might as well give up now
But still I continue
It seems I never learn
Waiting and hoping
That someday I may be heard
I hang my head in sorrow
To the singer who stands alone
Yes I bow my head and say thank you
Then I pack my guitar and go home
No-one hears a word
So I'll just sit here and sing to myself
Like some lonesome singing bird
But even the songbird
Does not sing in vain
There′s always someone listening
Who will want him to sing again
So why do I continue
Why do I carry on
The hour is getting late now
And the audience is almost gone
Don't be put off
By the silence you hear
For it may be they're receiving you somehow
But if the silence is empty
And no-one hears a word
Then you might as well give up now
But still I continue
It seems I never learn
Waiting and hoping
That someday I may be heard
I hang my head in sorrow
To the singer who stands alone
Yes I bow my head and say thank you
Then I pack my guitar and go home
