One dawn four million years ago
We swung down from the trees
Stood upright on savannah grass
Then spawned like a disease
Conquered earth, air, water, fire
Left footprints on the Moon
Yet cannot sate desire and hate
That fates us to our doom
Are we doomed?


Know how to split the atom
But cannot feed the starving
Without loaves & fishes shared
No wisdom in our ′holy' books
They cause us only pain
It′s time we took a closer look
Before we die for shame
We claim to love our children
But we breast-fed them on lies
Leave unto them a dying world
While Mother Nature cries

We dwell in borrowed times
Never feed our need for greed
Nor heed the poets' rhymes
Weak! Weak! Sheep we bleat
Lambs for the slaughter bred
The leaders who deceive us
They will bleed us 'til we′re dead

We′ve dreams above our station
Shot out rockets to the skies
Meanwhile back here down on Earth
Our fragile planet dies... our planet dies!

Detested pest - A naked ape
