The Morning After Blues Songtext
von Tommy Makem

The Morning After Blues Songtext

I woke up this morning and I had an awful pain in my head
And knew from the way I felt, I should have stayed in bed
The cat walked across the room, each step was like the rattle of doom
Last night was fun,
But in the morning sun, I wish I was a mummy in a tomb
Last night I told a pretty girl that she should be in Hollywood

When I saw her just this morning, well she didn′t look quite so good
Now you may not believe this news, but I'm gonna give up the booze
When I get a little drink to chase the morning after blues
When I get a little drink to chase the morning after blues

I′ve got two shoes on, one is black and the other is brown
And I wish that the walls of this room would settle down
When all is said and done, a fella has to pay for his fun
But I wish I could find the man who said two heads are better than one

It's a drum beating inside my head that's the cause of this pain
If I ever get better, well I′ll never get drunk again
Now you may not believe this news, but I′m gonna give up the booze
When I get a little drink to chase the morning after blues
When I get a little drink to chase the morning after blues
When I get a little drink to chase the morning after blues
When I get a little drink to chase the morning after blues
