BRIMFUL IN MY SOUL Songtext

BRIMFUL IN MY SOUL Songtext

Stirring the dregs in an all night café
With the winos and the junkies who′ve got no place to stay
There's a warm bed waiting for me but I missed the last bus home
The night was filled with music and I didn′t want to go
I'm empty in my pockets but I'm brimful in my soul

I was playing an open mic to a crowd of nine or ten
The promoter said he dug it and be sure to come again
Some guy kept me talking, he was watching from the door
He really liked my music and he′d love to hear some more
I′m empty in my pockets but I'm brimful in my soul

School is over now, all my friends are college bound
Making plans for big careers and settling down
I know that′s not for me, I got a different destiny
There's music in my soul, got to set it free

Standing on the corner down in Temple Bar
Playing for the tourists, just me and my guitar
The policeman is friendly but still he stops the show
I haven′t got a licence so he says I'll have to go
I′m empty in my pockets but I'm brimful in my soul
