Don't Think We're One Songtext

I don′t want to alarm you, my dear.
I don't want to discourage you at all,
But there′s something I ought to tell you.

That magic that you saw inside my eye
Could well be a blacker shade of white than you thought
And like the wintry light is fading.

Don't think that we're one, don′t fool yourself.
My boat is sinking, so save yourself.
Don′t follow me.

You should be wary of my means and ends.
I have been known to change my tune and mind.
Take my advice and brace yourself.

You may find that from time to time I'm opaque.
You may be tempted to inquire about why,
But I don′t even know the answer.

Don't think that we′re one, don't fool yourself
My boat is sinking, so save yourself
Don′t follow me.

You might be wise to guard yourself against me.
You would be well advised to find a way out of my embittered hidden trap.
But that would just defeat the point of the game.
I'll keep you here, forever locked away;
I've lost the key to the gates of me.

Don′t think that we′re one, don't fool yourself
My boat is sinking, so save yourself.
Don′t follow me.
