I was waking up in the morning
I was doing it on my own
I was getting to work at a good time
I had a happy family in my home
In another world there was Manny
He was leading a life of crime
I′d never seen him before until one day
He robbed a store while I was standing in line

He pulled a gun and we all made a mad dash
Instead of running' you just gave him the cash
You were the witness I was being suspected
It really didn′t go the way I expected
You coulda put the blame on Manny but you put it on me


And so they took me down to the station
Got my fingerprints and scanned my eyes
They wrote down all of my information
Made some calls and locked me up inside
They said they checked the video cameras
But they forgot to press record that day
I just kept thinking of Manny
I couldn't believe that he got away

I was just some guy, you were the store clerk
I guess I get why you were confused
You must have seen me standing behind him
Thinking I was part of the ruse

And so I lived inside of that prison
Innocent in what I was charged for
Until one day in my vision
Appeared Manny in my gated door
He sat on my bottom bunk bed
Used my toothbrush to clean his teeth
He told me his name and I then I said
"You're the reason that I ain′t free"

I grabbed his collar and I threw him a punch
I′d never fought anyone before lunch
The guards found us in a bloody mess
It's ′cause of you that it ended up like this!
