Lincoln's Songtext

There′s a place on the side of the highway
It's just a little hole in the wall
I′ve traveled many highways and byways
And it's still one of my favorites of all

It's just a little drive down I-25 in Denver
And you′ll see it, it′ll be on your right
I find myself thinking we had a lotta good times at Lincoln's

At Lincoln′s it was always beer-thirty
The girls there were pretty and flirty
And if you liked real country or blues that were true
The bands would lay 'em low down and dirty

Was the place to be on a Saturday night
We used to keep ′em dancing 'til they turned out the lights
I find myself thinking we had a lotta good times at Lincoln′s

My uncle used to sing us songs
Everybody sang along
And Dad would tell his dirty jokes
Buy us drinks when we were broke

Maybe I'll head down to the roadhouse tonight
See if I run into old friends
I find myself thinking we had a lotta good times at Lincoln's

Hey Jim Bob I′ve had too much whiskey
I′m sorry I can't pay my tab
′cause driving right now would be risky
And I have just enough for a cab

So please let me slide one more time if you can
And I promise you I'll come back tomorrow my friend
We′ll do a little drinking - tomorrow night I'm buying at Lincoln′s

Maybe I'll head down to the roadhouse tonight
See if I run into old friends
I find myself thinking we had a lotta good times at Lincoln's

Yeah maybe I′ll head down to the roadhouse tonight
See if I run into old friends
I find myself thinking we had a lotta good times at Lincoln′s

I find myself thinking we had a lotta good times at Lincoln's
