Never Thought (dub) Songtext
At Holborn station the vagrants greet my eyes
It′s a wonder they survive these cold and bitter nights
The chill I feel comes not from these cold winds
But from seeing youth pulling food out of the bins
And hour by hour their numbers increase and you know
As we lay in front of the fire
You hate your body and I hate mine
As if in someway we're deprived
I just gaze into your eyes, and I coo into your ears
Never thought that I would ever need someone,
Someone like you
Never thought that I would ever meet someone
As lovely as you
I watch the snow falling in Parker Street
London shivers while it′s trying to get to sleep
And there are those who won't be waking up anymore
Yes winter kills but it only kills the poor
And hour by hour their numbers increase and you know
As we lay in front of the fire
You hate your body and I hate mine
As if in some way we're deprived
I just gaze into your eyes, and I drivel in your ear
When you′ve no money, you have nothing at all
When you have no love and no home, you cannot walk tall
The chill I feel comes not from these cold winds
But from seeing youth pulling food out of the bins
From cardboard city to the dreaded spike and you know
As we lay in front of the fire
You hate your body and I hate mine
As if in some way we′re deprived
I just gaze into your eyes, and I coo into your ear
