Crying to the Moon Songtext

Crying to the Moon Songtext

There is no bond quite so sound as a master and his hound
And by his side I′d always stay whenever he would court his maid

On the first warm day we had that Spring he took his love a ring
But as we turned into the farm we found her in another's arms

In the woods after dark
If you hear a mournful bark
That′s just me, crying to the moon
A-ooo, a-ooo

I saw the tears fall from his eyes and felt his anger rise
They both fought hard but not for long 'til soon my master's life was gone

Never thought to hurt a man before I found his neck between my jaws
He took the one I loved away now he′ll not live another day

In the woods after dark
If you hear a mournful bark
That′s just me, crying to the moon
A-ooo, a-ooo

But most of all it broke my heart when his sweet love fell apart
With trembling hands she took the knife and with it she cut short her life

In the woods after dark
If you hear a mournful bark
That's just me, crying to the moon
A-ooo, a-ooo
