The Death of Thieves Songtext
I realised that day when i looked in to my darkest sky; the moon had lost its halo | now the moon has lost its halo all of my nights are left blind, all of my life i′ve learnt to hide | withering | too aware of who is watching in the face of my deceit | my audience became my critics | the parasites have fed too long | alone i suffered in the hands of others, alone i survived, let my stature reach the sky | now it's time, leave it all behind, let it go | so i must turn away and overcome, using all my strength to carry it on, all my fears will never return | they will drain the life from me if i don′t stop them | their stares are a crushing burden | i never wanted to be alone, hidden away from it more than now | solitude is a cure that cannot be found | solitude's the cure that can't be found, to these vultures i am bound | they′re eating away at my sanity like it′s going out of fashion | i need a foothold, a life line to grasp, but every step seems as slippery as the last | got to find a way, got to find a way, got to find a way to cast their names | i cannot delay or keep their hate at bay | i will rid all that became, cut the ties that hold my bane | now i've become more aware i will not surrender | the death of thieves | their storm rides alongside their broken wings, hate and fear they bring | they carry much of what i once owned and now have killed | broken but still i stand | i have won, i have lost, i have lost | although i won the war i have lost everything | i have lost you | i will rid my oppression if it′s the last thing i do
