Feelings and mem′ries of yesterday's love gone away
The hours and minutes have brought up the sun for today
And I′m still here sittin' beside the pond
We used to lay here for hours
Just talking 'bout how things were gonna be
And make love among summer flowers

I woke up this morning, your clothes were all gone from the drawers
Your slippers were no longer under the bed on the floor
And I′m still here thinking ′bout all the times
We both made the other one cry
Then realize that we had to compromise
And both make a promise to try


But some things just don't change no matter how hard you try
And God knows I could have done better to satisfy
The one that would love me forever
If I had just stayed by your side

If I had one more chance to try things again from the start
I′d try to give to you all that I can from the heart
I guess all this thinking and hopeful wish
To bring us back where we belong
Is useless to do 'cause we′d never change
We both know our pride is too strong
