Oh How Time Flies Songtext

Oh How Time Flies Songtext
Oh how time flies
Passing by like a bird in the night
′Cause I never had you way back when
Time was on my side
And I learned to play guitar every night
Back before web 2.0
Shattered my thoughts, and my prose
Oh how time flies
You and I were like ships in the night
Sometimes I wish we'd collided
And sank down together
Like Romeo and Juliet in the most poetic of weather
But we′re still on the surface
Still floating around
Aimlessly drifting, and constantly found
But I just wanna be lost,
For a little while.
But it's not so easy
With all these constant distractions
Click bait, ex girlfriends,
Peoples reactions,
To today's news story, about nothing much
The death of a rockstar
Who ate what for lunch
It′s consuming, and I′m tired,
And I haven't stepped outside
I spent my while morning, living online
Have a guess what I′ll be doing, when I get home tonight
Connected to the world, but not to myself
Oh how time flies
It was just yesterday, that I was fixing my pushbike
Riding into town, with no one around
There are about 20 more houses, on that road now
But I've still got my mind,
And I remember, what it was like
To have nothing to do
Just myself in that room
Oh how time flies.
Passing by like a bird in the night
′Cause I never had you way back when
Time was on my side
And I learned to play guitar every night
Back before web 2.0
Shattered my thoughts, and my prose
Oh how time flies
You and I were like ships in the night
Sometimes I wish we'd collided
And sank down together
Like Romeo and Juliet in the most poetic of weather
But we′re still on the surface
Still floating around
Aimlessly drifting, and constantly found
But I just wanna be lost,
For a little while.
But it's not so easy
