For Your Glory (intro/live) Songtext

For Your Glory (intro/live) Songtext
I was, um, 2006
I′ma tell you a lil' history about myself
2006, I′m from a small town, it's called Jesup, Georgia
I know you know, it's for my homeboy
Um, and my father was a pastor
He started pastoring when I was ten years old
Church, I′m a church girl
It′s all I, this is all I know
And, um, in 2006, God did a-, He like, flipped the script on me
And He said, "You have four months to move to Atlanta"
I had nothing in Atlanta
I had a cousin who had a house
And she let me stay in there for six months
And she was like, "You got six months and you gotta go"
I was like, "Okay"
And so, um, sometimes, God will lead you in a foggy place
But, when it's foggy, that′s when His sheep know his voice
And so, though I could not understand why He had given me that instruction
I knew that I had heard His voice (yeah)
I was comfortable in my dad's church
And I knew, you know, I knew what made the people shout and move
You know, I knew his, his flow, his vision, his heart
And why will God send me somewhere that was uncomfortable?
Ah, so even being uncomfortable
Even being concerned
Being a little fearful, I packed my bags
And I moved to Atlanta in four months
The first day that, that I was there
There was a new church that was started
That I didn′t know that I would become the first partner at this church
And that God will begin to birth
My international and worldwide ministry from that church
I was the first person to join in
When I walked in, the worship leader was singing a song that said
"I wanna be where You are
I gotta be where You are
Wanna be where You are
I gotta be where You are"
And as she was ministering, the Lord spoke to me
He said, "If it makes You uncomfortable, do you wanna be where I am?"
And I threw up my hands, and I said, "God, even if I don't understand it
Where You are is where I wanna be"
I′m talking to some people in this room
You feel like you don't have
The education, the experience
You feel like you're not old enough to do what God has instructed you to do
And God is saying, "I don′t need your resume, I just need your yes"
And so, we′re gonna minister this next song
This song has been a part of my life since 2006
And I believe, I'll be singing it until Jesus comes back
′Cause this is just my prayer
I′ma tell you a lil' history about myself
