The Ballad of the Baltic Sea Songtext

On a cold Friday night, it was starting to rain outside
The tempest let fly banners of red and white
The city of old, we left her behind in mists
On a westward course, the spirits were high

We mounted the ship, a vessel of steel-hard hide
A full mile in length, four hundred feet wide!
Uncertain whether we would find friendly troops inside
We took to our chamber to rest

Sailing the high seas
We shall harness the wind
If we ever arrive in that evil land
We′ll keep home in our hearts

The cabin was dry, our soldiers felt weak inside
We knew it was time to strike out with might
Inside a great hall there were bottles, every shape and size
Mystical drinks, magic potions we'd find

The battle is through, who′s to say if we won or lost?
All that I can say is we gave everything
The casualties high, the fallen blacked out last night
Yet on this we swear, we'll come back for more

Sailing the high seas
We shall harness the wind
Lest we ever arrive in that evil land
We'll drink tax free till the end
