There′s a bougainvillea out the back
At least there was until last week
That you finally got what you need
Well, I've been thinking lots lately
′bout my future and if it's for me
Like if there's one where I don′t just live with my parents
And keep making excuses for me

And my shitty self-care
And our shitty quality time
I spend on my phone and I need to go home
′Cause lonely is safest for me

We've all tried to be much nicer to ourselves and others
At one point or another, we tell ourselves that
This is temporary, I can get this back on track
Or I′ll just fall right back, rinse and repeat


There's a bunch of things I could′ve done right
There's a bunch of time in the day when I make my mistakes and I
I′m getting real good at telling myself that
"It's okay, it's alright, it′s just tonight"
And we′ll be fine

Except for my shitty self-care
And our shitty quality time
I spend on my phone and I need to go home
