Switzerland in June Songtext

Switzerland in June Songtext
On the terrace
In the middle
Of the afternoon
Drinking water
From the bottle
We were on the loose
Asking waiters
To grate the truffle
On the chocolate mousse
All the proper table manners
Learnt at finishing school
Cease to matter altogether in
Switzerland in June
(We sang a different tune)
Luncheon courses
All out of order
Having tea at 2
Place settings
Disregarded As if no one had a clue
Outside the chateau
Masses mingled
It was a heady time
In the confusion
Stirred up people
Started to form a line
Sunbathing
On boats with pedals
Like they′d lost their minds
Such lovely weather
Lovely skies of blue
All laid to ruin
Birds back for summer
Edelweiss in bloom
Such a perfect day
Wasted on all this wasted youth
Switzerland in June
In the middle
Of the afternoon
Drinking water
From the bottle
We were on the loose
Asking waiters
To grate the truffle
On the chocolate mousse
All the proper table manners
Learnt at finishing school
Cease to matter altogether in
Switzerland in June
(We sang a different tune)
Luncheon courses
All out of order
Having tea at 2
Place settings
Disregarded As if no one had a clue
Outside the chateau
Masses mingled
It was a heady time
In the confusion
Stirred up people
Started to form a line
Sunbathing
On boats with pedals
Like they′d lost their minds
Such lovely weather
Lovely skies of blue
All laid to ruin
Birds back for summer
Edelweiss in bloom
Such a perfect day
Wasted on all this wasted youth
Switzerland in June
