I always think of you as standing in the rain
For no particular reason except that funny little look of yours
That says you′ve completely forgotten what it is that you're doing


I could say why do we always end up this way
I could say can′t people ever change
I could say why ask why

It's like erasing the face out of an etch-a-sketch
Or counting all the stars in the sky
It's just a way to pass the time

And the funny thing is
I always meant to buy you an umbrella
