She left me hanging, with the Wolves
With no fire inside, that could guide me towards a
Better night

I know, the Wolves were glad, they had a fool
That could turn into air and feed their hungry mouths
Feed their hunger of wit

As I was waiting on salvation
Though I′m no believer, I thought I would actually pray
And I would clench my hands red

But then she showed up, so beautiful
I drank up and pressed myself against the wall
I couldn't bare the view

And she said
"I don′t wanna hurt you, baby"

So carelessly, she came up to me
Rest her head on my chest and gave me a look that
Struck like thunder in the rain


And when we kissed, the rose of her lips
Bloomed right at my, burnt-out eyesight
Oh, what a marvelous view

And she said
"I don't wanna hurt you, baby"

And then she spoke, in tongue of love
With words I'd only read in poetry
But never heard before

She touched my face, and in a slowed- down pace
Her eyelids shut like the wings of a Butterfly
Closed the beauty inside

She said
"I don′t wanna hurt you, baby"

Left me out there, all alone
"It was all a dream", but now she′s gone
I guess she woke up

Now that I'm old, I feel so cold
Yet again, another spark inside has died
