Hopscotch Songtext
von Ruben Hein
Hopscotch Songtext
One for storks, two for crows
three to get ready, go, go, go
jump out, you′re in the grave
in the box and you are safe
But never saved
Four and five lead to six
there is life between the bricks
Seven and eight they lead to nine
Chalk is white and draws the line
But who draws the line?
Turn around
and toss away the stone
Back to one
It's a game best played alone
I′m heading home
I'll be heading home
On the pavement, homeward bound
Life on the line and keeping count
Out there the vultures soar
And one and two make three
No more
So I divide the steps of time
Into playing games
And nursery rhymes
One for storks, two for crows
Round and round and round it goes
Turn around
And toss away the stone
Back to one
It's a game best played alone
I′m heading home
I′ll be heading home
three to get ready, go, go, go
jump out, you′re in the grave
in the box and you are safe
But never saved
Four and five lead to six
there is life between the bricks
Seven and eight they lead to nine
Chalk is white and draws the line
But who draws the line?
Turn around
and toss away the stone
Back to one
It's a game best played alone
I′m heading home
I'll be heading home
On the pavement, homeward bound
Life on the line and keeping count
Out there the vultures soar
And one and two make three
No more
So I divide the steps of time
Into playing games
And nursery rhymes
One for storks, two for crows
Round and round and round it goes
Turn around
And toss away the stone
Back to one
It's a game best played alone
I′m heading home
I′ll be heading home
