The Death of Tall Tom Songtext
The Death Of Tall Tom
I stood up from the ground
I pushed myself with my hands
My hands were covered in sand
And tall toms blood
I′d been hot on tall toms trail
He'd killed my wife took her away
And it changed me to a man
Who searched for blood
And it had been such a long time
Since he took my love away
Without as much as a second thought
That I would make him pay
Though it might not be the right thing
This death won′t right his wrong
Then in a breath my bullet caused his death
And Tall Tom was gone
Though I see my enemy cold and dead in front of me
I see now that it did not bring her back
I just killed a lonely man the same lonely man that I now am
And there is no earthly way of getting back
Tall tom was a man who made a plan that he could follow through
And if someone had to die well so too bad
Drank good whiskey didn't talk
Didn't care and only lived to taunt
That′s why he had to die for all he′d done
And even though it is too late now
To question certain things
Like how the evil things he did throughout his life
Had brought him here to me
Now it has all ended with my pistol
With one cold shot into his head
Tall Tom fell as Tall Tom died
Then tall was dead
I stood up from the ground
I pushed myself with my hands
My hands were covered in sand
And tall toms blood
I′d been hot on tall toms trail
He'd killed my wife took her away
And it changed me to a man
Who searched for blood
And it had been such a long time
Since he took my love away
Without as much as a second thought
That I would make him pay
Though it might not be the right thing
This death won′t right his wrong
Then in a breath my bullet caused his death
And Tall Tom was gone
Though I see my enemy cold and dead in front of me
I see now that it did not bring her back
I just killed a lonely man the same lonely man that I now am
And there is no earthly way of getting back
Tall tom was a man who made a plan that he could follow through
And if someone had to die well so too bad
Drank good whiskey didn't talk
Didn't care and only lived to taunt
That′s why he had to die for all he′d done
And even though it is too late now
To question certain things
Like how the evil things he did throughout his life
Had brought him here to me
Now it has all ended with my pistol
With one cold shot into his head
Tall Tom fell as Tall Tom died
Then tall was dead
