The Willingness to Move Songtext
von Robbie Cavanagh

The Willingness to Move Songtext

You can't kneel down with your hand in your pocket,
You wear a frown because your dad wears the locket that was intended for you and then he broke it in two,
He kept on to the half with your mother, strikes his matches on the back of the other,
But what else could he do, he said he swore she'd pull through.

Listen up boy time's on your side and you've always known there's two sides to a coin,
Listen up child I know you're right that if families the hardest team to join.

He hangs a portait in the hall by the kitchen,
Doesn't notice that his son doesn't miss him so he reads to himself, says half a prayer for good health,
He goes to church, him and his lover meet there,
You don't pray because you know that'll be there and he doesn't believe as he religiously teased.

Listen up boy time's on your side and you've always known there's two sides to a coin,
Listen up child I know you're right that if families the hardest team to join.
Some day you'll get your way, like I got mine.
